Back at the Clack and first fish of the morning had me fooled in the beginning, but lacked a bit of fight...and turns out it's the wrong fish, but hey, why not try something different at home, right?

Next up, summer special on the trusty nightmare:

Two fish by about noon, and the fishing world is back on track :)

Wonderful.

Congrats on the great day on the water

Glad to see you got a couple, must feel great.

Freebie!

Could have been a freebie lol. Man I didn't touch a fish. Saw one one the bank in the tailout I headed up too. The place came alive around 4. Six or seven guys with 3 oz bobbers. Tunabelly and eggs. I left as they started launching cannon ball floats. They reported 3 fish for 4 trips. And a few other springers have been caught there. But I only saw the one nice chrome summer. Glad u had a good self fulfilling prophecy.

Great fish, how deep were you fishing the nightmare jig?

We'll keep working it and find those fish...you'll get your vengeance!

And I definitely appreciate the down-river spotting while fighting/landing the fish to keep me out of that root ball this fish was trying to bury into.

I tried the sandy yesterday instead of the Clackamas. I had a takedown within my first ten casts and shook it off. Nothing after that but started late around 4. Looks like the Clackamas was better yesterday. I guess the recent rain is finally pushing more fish in.

Upper river or lower river???...i havent been able to locate them bad boys

Congrats on the springer and steel!

Nice ones!

For the above posters: Sandy and Clack both have a grip of fish in 'em all throughout. Sandy is on fire though. Heard of a lot of springers last week.

I caught these two in the upper section of the river open for steelhead. I've also seen and heard of some caught down low this last week, too.

Way to go! They say the small springers are the best eaters.
