Hagg Lake--- Decided to go out with a buddy today and get him into some smallmouth, headed to my favorite bank spot for em. A fallen tree that they just seem to love. First cast with a gray and orange soft plastic craw, rigged texas style, I fish it parallel to the log and out of no where, I see a fish just dart to it, pick it up and run. In shock, I don't set the hook hard enough and he's gone.. for now. Second cast, he comes back and this time I lay it to him, it doesn't stick. Wondering what the hell is up, I check the craw and the pincer is caught on the hook, fix that and back at it. Third cast, I cast parallel to the same log, he hammers it and I lift the aggressive little guy up the cliff for a pic. Released right after. Only fish of the day. Had a few little fish tugging on the crawfish, but other than that, nothing.
