I finally moved back after 7 years and my first trip out I got one on the bank!!! It was a little dark but a keeper...8lb buck and my first jig caught steelie and I may just be a believer in Fluorocarbon Line because the first cast after I switched I caught this fish...hmmm...well I hope there is enough time to bank a few more before spring nookies...cheers!

Nice buck...I went through a flurocarbon phase...Several brands...Throwed it all away...For good!!..LOL

Congrats.

Looks like the fish wanted to welcome you home too. Sweet!

There are plenty of steel still left in many streams. And, the big boys are just coming into some of them. Go get 'em.

nice fish! ill second what troutdude said, not just big broodstock hatchery fish but the baddest of em all..the big, chrome and 100% wild oregon winter steelhead.. your just in time for the best of the season

Yep. Hit the 'Tucca, and you may be rewarded w/ a 20 lb.+ hawg!

Good job! Keep em coming!

100% wild steelhead? There are only a couple bodies of water in oregon that could claim that. There was a thread on here a while back, anyone remember the streams listed?

just beacuse a stream's gene pool has been partially disrupted by a hacthery fish spawning here and there doe not mean there are no actual wild steelhead left in those streams i doubt a 20lb winter steelhead has any hacthery genes in it

Do some research. Due to logging, silt and splash dams the steelhead on the Coos river system were non existent around the turn of the century.

thats the coos river, not everywhere else  but i see what you mean
