Have you ever pictured yourself fishing an exotic river with no human presence for 200 miles in any direction? Ever feature yourself pitching flies the size of a small muskrat on a 10 weight all day for fish that are measured in feet, rather than inches? Then come to the January TU 678 meeting this Wednesday 1/11at 7:00 pm. Local guide Matt Ramsey will present his experiences taimen fishing in Mongolia. Taimen are the largest trout species, growing up to six feet in length. They're highly predatory, making them an aggressive and powerful adversary on the fly. Matt has been guiding in Mongolia for 14 seasons. He has the rivers, flies, and techniques wired. Even if you'll never get there, you won't want to miss this fish-porn extravaganza!
Trust us. There will be much more on Wednesday. Plus, you'll get to share a beer and pick Matt's brain about his extensive knowledge of the McKenzie, Willamette, and local coast streams where he also guides.
