I usually find bikers in the a few yards from the edge of the road in traffic.

Sad thing is he didn't give a travel plan to anyone. I have always given my plan to someone when I go out in the woods! No exceptions!

PORTLAND, Ore. — After nearly a week in the Mount Hood National Forest wilderness, a lost mountain biker has been found safe – albeit “tired, cold, dirty, and worn out,” the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.
Ralph Sawyer, 52, was reported missing last Friday after he didn’t return from a planned mountain biking trip. Crews found his car the next morning with his cell phone inside the vehicle, and continued the search for the next several days.
Deputies said that Sawyer showed up to a neighbor’s house in Gresham at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, “tired, cold, dirty, and worn out.”
He told the sheriff’s office that he made it back to his car, which deputies had left parked on East Still Creek Road, and drove himself home.
The sheriff's office, along with multiple search and rescue teams, were gearing up to continue the search when they found out he had been located.

Planned Trip? Where was his route map? Why didn't he contact the authorities to let them know he was ok? I guess there are way to many questions when it comes to stupidity. I am glad he is ok, But at what cost to already dwindling resources?
