I know it is a carp, which makes it less cool, but I still thought these were neat pictures. Fish ripping line off the water as it headed out of the bay shortly after being hooked:

Carp notwithstanding, very cool! Hey, I learned something from you. I just got a couple of those UV buffs from the Fly Shop. Just had another friend get skin cancer on the face, ex-surfer, so it was time to take measures. Plus, I get to look cool while fishing. Thanks for all the great reports.

I am a huge fan of the Buff. i wear long sleeves and sun gloves (and a hat) as well. Sunscreen and carp don't mix, there is just no way to get the scent off of your hands, so it will get on your flies and line/leader. Carp are super sensitive to smells...the buff is a great solution. i now consider that thing an essential piece of fishing gear.

Great pics as usual John. Keep at it, you are changing perceptions all on your own around here. BTW, Buffs rock. Im a big fan too. Im a pale , pasty blond of Scandinavian descent and i burn bad. They keep the sun off and keep you cooler in direct sun on hot days.
