Back to back beauties!

I landed this beautiful little native hen this morning. That makes 2 fish in my last 2 days out, both native hens, both on TCO spinners. The pictures do not do this fish justice, she had amazing pink gill plates, and not one scratch or scale missing.

You would think she did judging by how deep she got it. I was fishing a slower deeper, section of water and I had just cast and was waiting for the first tap of the bottom. Felt the first tap, lifted up just a bit with my wrist to start the drift and was caught on something. I didn't set the hook I just kinda pulled back slow and steady. Felt kinda like a stick coming up slowly, then WHAM, WHAM, WHAM!!! My guess is she inhaled on the drop while I had some slack in my line. Bad news is I lost 2 TCO's today...
