18 lb Siuslaw coho

Just thought i would post a picture of a 18 lb 35"Coho that i caught a few days before they shut it down. This is my second biggest ever on the Siuslaw the first was released and not weighed but it had to be close to 25lb. The Siuslaw kicks out some huge Coho at times and it was great to be able to keep some after many years of releasing so many.

Nice! I hey there are several records that go up that river every year. I got one yesterday that I didn't even photograph. For some reason I got it to the boat and handed the rod off and grabbed its tail with one hand and the pliers with the other. I wouldn't doubt that record fish have been released since you can't keep them most places until recently.

Hey Thuggin4Life i was just a couple of boats away from your boat "guide status"when you released that Coho saturday and i was impressed with the way you handled the fish.Good job.Earlier that day i had some words with a boat that killed a very nice Coho by dropping it in the boat 3 times while trying to get a hero shot for his wife who had caught it.

Hey thanks man. Its always sad to see people turning fish into seal food.Once i got the good look and new i wasn't gonna be able to keep it i did excactly what you saw. Would have made a good pic to add to my collection and report. but I kbnow i caught it and i have tons of photos from previous years when i had less experiance and photo'ed every coho i got. then you add all my legal coho i have caught and photographed it makes no sense to waste my time and risk the fish for a photo. You should have said hi though. I enjoy meeting new people from here. well most of the time....

I will say hey next time i see your boat.We got 2 Chinook in the boat that same day a 25 and a 14LB with a third Chinook taken by a seal. The 25 lb was a first ever for my brothers wife so that was fun to see.We were in a 15' camo sled with a Honda 50/35 jet. Those fish and all of my Chinook and Coho are taken with my own spinner design,it works well.

Cool I kinda remember that boat. Way to go on the home made spinners! And the first fish! I hate seals. I missed one this year already. too bad there are so many boats out or there would be less seals.
