I agree I've only ever seen them well east of the cascades. Dosent men there can't be similar genetics else where.

    Fish identification help

Let's examine the facts.... Steelhead are merely anadromus trout. What you are holding looks like a kind of large rainbow (non-anadromus) I see in the Deschutes called a "red-side" and yes they are very hard to tell apart from a Steele.

    Columbia River walleye

I fish the columbia a lot for walleye. The real walleye water starts about hood river and gets better the farther upstream you go, all the way to Mcnary. Numbers are always good, averaging 3-6 fish every 4 hour trip. With trips of 25 and 30 fish possible in the right places and times. The...

    East Lake

I lived in central oregon for 12yrs... They have been their a long time! They do (or at least used to) put traps out when they are congregated to spawn. Right before I left, they introduced Atlantic salmon to the lake in hopes they would eat the chub. I have caught one from east lake.

    Columbia River Fishing Reports

Yeah... Tuff time of year for the eyes. There's just way to much forage in the river. That's why the the last three trips were almost exclusively bass trips. I've been doing some research to help target eyes this time of year. it's hard to get good info cnsidering most guys seem to be fishing...

    Columbia River Fishing Reports

I live at the other end of the Gorge.... Rule of thumb on the wind, if the east wind is blowing in Portland it's glass calm at Hood River and beyond. I know! It's not a lot of days but pretty reliable pattern.
