For anyone who thinks salmon or steelhead fishing is hard , that just doesn't make sense to me. Watch internet videos on techniques and drive some rivers looking for spots and ppl catching fish watch. Do What they do and figure out how to fine tune it
. Its really easy once you catch a few. Even...
I would start out by fishing the coquille river, the sixes and the elks river, and even the coos river if that has steelhead. Those are good places to start
I think that a lot of our runs seem to be extending out a lot cause we caught coho on the main stem umpqua in February last year even tho it was low water
Well I traveled south a little earlier this season and just like last year it produced another giant fish on a yarn ball :bleh::thumb: .fish was 39 inches long and had a 21 inch girth
i like the owner side drifting hooks have never had a problem with either size 2 or 4 and we have landed 3 that i know were all over 18 pound steelhead and kept fishing with that same size 4 the rest of the day no problem. good hooks.
I was about one step out the door this morning from going because the river was dropping at a pace that would have been suitable for a couple spots but i felt the wind and rain and went back to bed lol glad i did its POURING OUT THERE!
