Why wouldn’t I dig up some bones here? I know that this is an age old controversy but I’m curious about the thoughts of some real fishermen about the right vs left debate. So I believe that I may have been born a south paw but a severely broken left arm at a very young age may have contributed...
We did great! Had to buy a map of the lake to figure out where you were talking about! Thanks a ton for the information! Now I need to buy an entry level line counting reel for trolling! Trolling with a spinning reel is for the birds. Considering an Okuma Magda 15. Anything come to mind?
Thanks everyone for the information on Odell. We had a great time! Bite was sporadic but we caught fish! I learned that I need a decent line counter level wind because my spinning reel isn’t that great for trolling. Looking at a Magda 15. Limited budget here! Any thoughts?
On August 27th, we are going on a camping/fishing trip to Odell Lake. Never been there and was wondering is anyone here has any tips for fishing there at this time of year. Tips like depth, rigging and areas on the lake. I plan to use my Okuma STA Kokanee rod. Should be a kick!
Had a GREAT day at buoy 10. You’ll probably think Herring. We couldn’t buy a strike on Herring. There is a saying in the sales world. “If the fish aren’t jumping in the boat, change bait”. We did....to Anchovies and hooked 4 in a matter of a few minutes. Three wild and one hatchery. Had to toss...
I would happily take those Bolo’s off your hands! Keep me in mind if and when you run across them. Stan Fagerstrom turned me onto them years ago. He swore by them and so do I! Thanks!!
“Back in the day” I used Rooster Tails and Les Davis Bolo spinners exclusively and caught literally hundreds of trout and salmon. Never had a problem. The Bolo was hands down the best spinner I've ever used and now you can’t find one anywhere. Even then you’d have to give your rod tip a jerk to...
Say what? I’ll gladly lighten your tackle box for you if you’re talking about the heart shaped blade spinner! I will never understand why they discontinued that one! One of the best in my opinion!
August and September in the mouths of the tributaries along the lower Columbia pulling Rooster Tails. Pink, Black and Brown have always produced well for me. Be prepared to pick up Jacks and Chinook as well. If you can find an old Les Davis Bolo Spinner? You’re gold!
