Lakes Henry Hagg Lake Fishing Reports

From May to July I like to fish shallow. Weightless Texas-rigged trick worms work well for me shallow and drop shots if you're fishing 5+ ft deep. I don't think many o the fish hang deep unless the air temps getting into the high 90s, the lake water tends to run cool enough for the bass to stay...

12# main line too light for chinook?

Thanks for all the advice, If I want to have a chance at both steelhead and chinook, would 15-17# be the happy medium? I feel like casting on my 3000 reel really suffers with anything 20# and over. Mono just never really worked with my reel, the line memory was such a pain to deal with. I'm on...

12# main line too light for chinook?

Anyone think running 12# P-line flurocarbon as my main line is too light for a spinner setup when bank fishing rivers? I just tie the spinner straight to the mainline with a Palomar knot. A 8.5# steelhead snapped my line as I landed it and I lost a chinook the other day. I just really like how...

Better to be lucky than good

Caught my first salmon ever after a month of trying. Hardest fighting fish I've encountered in my life, luckily I was at a hole all to myself so no one could hear/watch me struggle . Bite happened at noon with water so warm I was in there barefooted. Lesson learned was that lures work and bites...

    What should I do?

Throw a jig past them and work it reaaaaallly slow. Or down-size the presentations and switch up the color. Don't give up on senkos, just try to vary your retrieve/presentations

    Hagg Lake Dec. 23 trip

Try to find structure or deep points throw at. Fish slow and fish the bottom. However, it's likely that the cold temps have pushed most fish out deeper than most bank anglers can reach.

    Hagg Lake Dec. 23 trip

New to the forum! Just wanted to share from a recent trip to hagg. Braved the cold to find some winter bass, this one hit the jig in only about 2 feet of water. Fun fight on a little trout pole and 4# test :thumb:
