Hit it yesterday, I boot of a coho and saw a guy hooked up on a bobber that lost it . I'll try again next Saturday if all goes well. PM me if your interested in gong.
If you make down my way, let me know, I'm in Lebanon and thus time of year fish the Alsea, Big Elk, Nestucca, and little later the Trask. Summer time the Santiams.
I've been trying to hook up with winters on the swung fly and its tough! Ill be trying again Saturday! Glutten for punishment I guess; better than sitting home watching TV!
Did you ever make it out to try salmon on the fly? I've had some success on the local rivers for springers swinging with a sink tip and larger articulated flies, mostly still get steelies, but occasionally get the nook (landed 3 last year). Send me a pm if you wasn't more info; God luck!
The Deschutes will have steelhead! I'm sure you can get a guided trip with walk and wade opportunities from just about any fly shop along the Gorge, Bend, or Maupin. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
Send me a PM and we can go fish sometime; I typically will swing flies for steelhead, and will often times take a small single handed rod and fish for trout. There are quite a few places to fish between Albany and Sweethome.
