The Wilson is not bad at all compared to the sandy or the clack but it does get a fare amount of trash and most of it fishing trash. Broken quart jars, hook packets, big wads of line. Its sad to see that people have that little respect for the rivers around here. Littering in cities does not bug...
I love to eat cromers with very little flavoring because they taste so good. A splash or two of soy sauce and thats it. If the fish is not in the best shape i brine it for a day and smoke it or flavor it with curry powder and tons of various Indian spices and eat it over rice with curry.
Hit the wilson today it was cold lowish and clear fish are spread through out the system we nailed one drifting sand shrimp and missed a bobber and jig take but it took some work to get into them.
Great book. I would start with fishing for gills its good fun easy to have 50+ fish days and great to help you get used to fighting fish with a fly rod and setting the hook and such.
That flies got bluegill written all over it nice job for your first attempt a lot better then my first one keep at it nothing like the feeling of catching fish on flys you tie.
I tie a lot of my own jigs and the jig heads i use normally chip pretty fast but i have never noticed it effecting the fish much. I have caught just as many on chipped jigs as unchipped jigs. Now nightmare jigs (black tail red body white head) I do cover the head with a layer of head cement it...
Walleyed Its a matter of my own opinion i happen to believe anything not worth doing the right way (the hard way) is not worth doing at all.
Belong on I fish thats funny i just left i fish to return to this fourm only because the simple lack of respect for the fishery and nature that it common...
Not if they dont put in the time and effort you can still catch fish going a few times a year if you spend entire days on the water hitting every pull out you see and if you catch fish doing this only going a few times a year more power to you. And maybe these people should not fish for...
Im happy to say i have not noticed much more pressure then is to be expected cause the wilson has been lousy with fisherman all year a lot more then last year from what ive seen i fish on weekend and days i have off school and i normally can not hit more then one or two holes i like without...
Im just curious why you would post all these holes for anyone to see. Ive been fishing the Wilson for 4 years i live a 40-45 minute drive from the upper river so i go often. I know 90% of these holes you posted and a few of them are favorites of mine that i really dont like sharing with everyone...
Really depends on the technique you use if its going to require heavier weight like swinging leach's for winters go with a 8 or 9wt if its indicator and egg pattern fishing a lot of people like a nice long 7wt for that. I bet you could catch some summers with a 6wt but you would be best off...
