Spent most of my life in or near Toronto, then moved to Vancouver BC for 10 years. Met a woman from Oregon during the Olympics and years later got married and moved to the Portland area. Been here for almost 6 years as of filling this out. I used to fish a lot in Toronto. Without a car there were lots of places to go. Started with spinning gear for smallmouth bass before getting into fly fishing. There really isn't any Trout fishing in Toronto unless you have a car so I started my fly fishing experience fishing for pike on an 8 wt rod. They're plentiful in that city, along the waterfront and especially on Toronto Island. After I left Toronto I didn't fish much. I lived in Calgary for six months though and did a fair bit of trout fishing along various parts of the Bow River as well as on lakes in the BC interior. Moved to Vancouver and pretty much didn't fish for a decade. Since moving to Oregon I've fished a little with my wife on camping trips in Idaho. Now that I have my own car I'm looking to get back into it. And I still enjoy fishing with spinning gear when the occasion calls for it.
