I moved to Florence with my wife in the summer of 2019, and it was kind of like coming home. My grandparents lived in Florence from the 1960's to the early 1990's, and as a kid, I used to get dropped off at their place on Rhododendron Drive, and their backyard was on the Siuslaw. I was in heaven because I could fish and crab every day. Fast forward 50 years, and on the way home for a national homebrewer's conference in Portland, in the summer of 2018, we decided to look at property up on Sutton Lake. We found the retirement home of our dreams, with a shop to house a new boat and plenty of room for my home brewery.

I'm looking forward to hitting all the local lakes for trout, cohos, bass, crappie, and other pan fish, as well as the Siuslaw for salmon and crab. I'm also hoping to hit some of the valley lakes for kokanees.
