Where to go on the Sandy?

Hi @Irishrover. Thank for the info. Went to Dodge park and Oxbow. The water was pretty brown and murky but it was good to go out and try out all my new gear before the season gets going. Yes, you are right, there’s not much river to fish on Dodge park but Oxbow is amazing and you can pretty...

    Fishing the Necanicum

@PhoFish just park at the park parking lot and hike up to logging road. it’s flat and wide open. that said, access to the river is spotty higher up so best option os to just hike the river bed. Down below by the parking lot there’s a nice path that goes up river for a few hundred yards.

Where to go on the Sandy?

Hi all, I’m new to Oregon and brand new to salmon/steelhead fishing. I know this is very last minute but... I’m planning on going out to the Sandy tomorrow early morning to try out my new gear (spinning and float) and start figuring a few things out. Any recommendation on where to go? I’m...

    Fishing the Necanicum

Went to the Necanicum river today (Klootchy Park) and hiked up river on the logging road. Good action early to mid morning. Caught a bunch of really small ones (the spinner sometimes was as big as the fish) and a few in the 12” size. Water is worm and low but if you can find fish, then seem...

    Coastal cutthroat fishing

Hey @PhoFish I'm heading out to the Nestucca, Trask and Wilson early Friday morning if you want to tag along (yeah, I know.... forecast calls for rain but the fish are already wet and if I want to get more fishing days in Oregon I better get used to it! ;) ).
