Got out yesterday and brought two clipped fish to the boat. Released one dark buck and retained this little hen.

    Yellow perch fishing

I graphed depths to 74 feet and found biting perch at 68 feet. Their bladders were full of air and eyes bugged out when I reeled them up.

    Yellow perch fishing

Worms on a #4 gamakatsu bait holder. 68 feet deep. The largest ones were 10 to 10 1/2. I missed or lost three for every one I brought in. Gorgeous day, no wind most of the time and 55 degrees.

    Yellow perch fishing

I'm interested in trying for some yellow perch this winter/early spring. Can anyone point me in the right direction and some tips on what to use? Can send me a message if you prefer. Thanks.

What happened to all the big kings?

    O. mykiss is spot on. It's a math exercise. Each time a king migrates around the gulf of Alaska, it faces the probability of getting trapped by trawlers with highly sophisticated equipment. How many 6-salt kings can avoid the nets to return to our waters?

    Sixes River special rules?…

In one north coast county, some landowners have tried to claim trespass when anglers anchored their boats in a river clearly covered by the Attorney General Opinion. The county deputies have consistently declined to take any action against the anglers, but have cited some landowners for...

    Personal best

Quite an accomplishment. Need to get the anchor to hold: check. Need to get the net out and ready: check. Need to control the fish as best as you can in river current: check. Need to get your line close enough to get leverage on the fish toward the net, probably with the net upstream not...
