There are pleanty of threads on here about night fishing and they kill fish. Look one up its very cool.hvacr1 said:I have heard that if you go jetty fishing at night its a blast because the fish will feed more towards the surface allowing you to use topwater baits has anyone heard of any truth to that. I know you would be putting yourself in a somewhat unsafe condition. Any thoughts

Kevinb5688 said:They are easy fish to catch, fish off one of the fingers off the south jetty and you will catch fish, i use 6 inch jigs with 1 1/2 oz weights to catch lingcod.

On a side note. Does anyone ever use crab guts for bait? This time of year , if you are around crab that's being cooked, save the gills and the inner soft shell for bait. It's the best but very fragile. I used to catch greenling and perch with those parts of the crab. Thought I would mention that as I have never heard anyone talk about that on here.

So the big split shot slide off the line when snagged and you get your hooks back? You have to cast into the rocks where the snags are......right? Do you hooks get snagged often? Why is the slack tide the best? The fish are more concentrated and like to run around with no current?
