couldn't buy a bite today...

...with a jig. and i wasn't about to let a senko on my boat... so had to settle for throwing poppers all day, first 2 hours we only had 1 fish in the boat and had lost another one

we, Ryan808 and his son Isaiah, were out on the water at 530 and and fished till one, the whole time the topwater bite was on! Ryan even caught a few with a jerk bait! at one point i also had 3 fish in 3 casts, i haven't done that in awhile! Isaiah hooked/landed one on all his own, and then reeled in a few of Ryans he did good, and didn't even get very bored. here's a few we took pictures of, overall we had 35-40 with poppers. and a handful on jerkbaits. and yes i had one on a jig but only to keep my jig streak alive:dance:

here's some we caught!

TR stuck to one lure, ask him about his prototype popper, lol. The megabass popper let me down today, it just wasn't swimming right. Its amazing how a different hook can change a baits action.

Very nice looking fish. I would not mind catching myself a few of those. Where was this at may I ask?

And another question: What's wrong with senkos? My father uses them sometimes and I know of people that use nothing but senkos.

Nice work riker, and colt I think riker has a personal issue with senko's

first OFF, I DO USE senkos... to plug the holes in my boat:lol::lol:
secondly, i think they are too easy to use, might as well go get some nightcrawlers and put them on a hook...:naughty::naughty:
thirdly, i don't like to fish weightless, because it takes half an hour to get whatever it is, senko or otherwise to get to where the fish are at, i like to keep moving and covering as much water/area as i can!
fourthly, they're overrated
fifthly, get out of your comfort zone and try somthing else that takes a little more technique than just throwing it and waiting for your line to move
sixthly, i don't want to catch 10 inch bass all day...
seventhly, (is that a word??) big bass like big baits, swimbaits/jigs/creaturebaits...
eightly, when fishing topwater im not after big fish as much as i am the excitment of seeing 4 pound bass explode out of the water and engulf said bait. nothing quite like it gets the blood pumpin

also, it's a private pond, FP refers to it as "basstopia" so that's it's unofficial name!

thanks FP, we were a little dissapointed with how many small ones we kept catching and the lack of the rest of my arsenal (a pocket full of goodies) since tackleboxes are overrated

so only managed one jigfish near the sunken island by the big crappie tree, in about 20 feet of water, that was probably the biggest fish of the day too. i guess... i will settle for dinks on topwater over nothing though
