How is the Perch fishing at Otter rock at low tide? It's been over 5 years since I have fished there using sand shrimp.

I use chicken thighs too. Tear back the skin to expose the fat!

If the crab are there, the cheap Danielson traps work just fine. I use 6 of them and they work just as good as the more expensive ones. 7 inch crab have no problem finding their way to the bait. I fish at Waldport and haven't caught any red rock crabs there. But if you catch more with the rings...

Do you mean you can't throw the trap or cage a distance like a ring? :confused:

Why do people still use rings? Traps are the only way to keep the sea-lions from stealing your bait and the crab can't dine and dash.

Jetty Fishing Jetty Fishing TJR_84, I've always had pretty good luck Night fishing over the years with the old lead-headed rubber worms. They're coming out with a lot of new tackle now-days which I haven't tried yet! But I've always have good luck with these for Sea Bass. Good Luck !!
