    Dorman Pond Fishing Reports

Remember if you can see them they can see you. Stand back away from the edge as you cast. Same with a boat. Shadows will spook em too. Depending on water temp, they may be setting up beds for the spawn. Bluegill colors work well as they are known bed robbers. Spawning bass hate bluegill!

Dad got it at a garage sale...what is it?

I looked up tenkara rods and it's not that exactly. The one eye is on the tip "inline" with the rod. Not perpendicular. It's very stout too. I'll try to get a pic of it soon. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Dad got it at a garage sale...what is it?

My dad got a bamboo rod at a garage sale that's about 7 to 7.5 ft long. It's hexagonal shaped and has just one eyelet at the tip of the rod. He wants to know what it was made to be used for...anybody know? Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    St Louis Ponds crappie

Don't forget feather jigs and/or curly tail grubs -the littler the better- using the drop shot technique. Those ponds are perfect for crappie and all sunfish "hunters"... it will a successful day if you take a quiet approach to the pond, cast no shadows and make no sudden movements. Soft cast...

    Sunday report

We've had tremendous success using mealworms for the crappie. They sell them at Gervais Market on your way through town.

    Santiam bank access

I would suggest a copy of Fishing in Oregon. That's how I found all of my new spots. I found a used copy on Amazon for 8 bucks.

    OFF hole again

Trash bags Trash bags Scott Haugen wrote in the first section of his Summer Steelheading book about the importance of bringing an extra bag to the river with you. I am proud to say that I had already been taught that lesson from an older fellow I met when growing up. It has stuck with me and I...

ODFW admits they are "statistically Challenged"

I just feel the need to jump in here. I'll ruffle feathers I'm sure, but here goes. Dumb people are people who can't talk. Is dumb an offensive word too? Maybe to those who are dumb, or those who love them. Or is it just a negative use of the word as an adjective? There are several...
