not exactly what you are asking but I did a day long canoe trip down the sturgeon lake waterways on sauvie island, amazing fishing. Bass, Walleye and peace all day. It took about 6 hours but stopped and had a picnic, great day. I used crawlers OFF the bottom and landed a big ol walleye.

I use the noodle as well, I use a razor blade and cut slits, they sell them at BI-MART for cheap. Fits in the pocket of my fishing vest so I don't spend half my fishing time with no line win the water. The leader tends to stay straight when I pull it off as an added bonus.
