    Newbie lookin for some guidance

As far as a decent all-around rod, one of those Berkley Air Buzz Ramsey dealios are pretty alright for the price. Maybe 70-ish bucks at BiMart. Just get an 8'6 medium action spinning rod and a not-too cheap reel.

    Is it just me!!!!????

I didn't really know much about steelhead fishing until last fall when I found this forum. Since then I've learned quite a bit, a lot of that being just WHERE to learn, be it books, PM's, etc etc. I hit the Slaw COUNTLESS times last season with nary a hookup and STILL came back. I love it. I...

    Advice on waders

I just got a pair of Redington SubZero waders and I LOVE them. They're neoprene on the bottom, breathable up top, plenty of pockets...they're great. The fly shop downtown in Ashland has them form about a 230 or so. I was waist-deep in the rogue this afternoon (it was about 38 degrees out) and...

How to fish with a two year old from shore?

I've got a Deuter as well. They're amazing, and my little guy is only about 20 months, so he only weighs about as much a fire pack. He usually just falls asleep in it.

    Good trout fishing near Merlin

    Good trout fishing near Merlin

Howdy, y'all. Recently moved down to Merlin from a much wetter part of the state. Was wondering about some good fishing holes within about an hour or so of town. Selmac looks fun, but what else is there? A buddy from work said there's some neat ponds near Onion Mt, anyone know anything about...

    Siuslaw report for Feb 23

My buddy and I hit up the 'Slaw right downstream from the mouth of Whittaker Creek yesterday from about lunchtime 'till dark. We went 0-1, saw a few hooked, a couple landed, and then there was that little 9 inch native  (trout?) that hit my big 'ol silver Stee-lee spoon and made it on...
