    Harriet Lake Fishing Reports

Monday, September 15th, 2014 What a day! It doesn't get much better than this. Showed up at Harriet around 7:15 AM and we had the place all to ourselves. I guess people didn't want to take the long way up 26, down skyline, and FR 57. I'm glad we did. My Brother caught 2 Trophy browns 19" and...

    Harriet Lake Fishing Reports

Hey fellow Fisherman and Fisherwomen! Harriet Lake: SLOW. Started fishing around 6:15 AM and left at 11:15 AM. I had a few bites using a sinking fly, but that's it. They wouldn't hit any dry flies, heck, they wouldn't even hit Power Bait or Eggs. No one was having any luck. They were actively...

    Harriet Lake Fishing Reports

August 11th, 2014 Another Monday, another Fishing/Hiking trip. We headed up to Harriet Lake for the 4th time this year. It wasn't too crowded as we pulled in around 8 AM. I rigged up exclusively to target the very wary and elusive Browns that cruise the drop-offs. Before today I had not caught...

    Clear Lake with my son

Have a great time and cherish these moments. Really maximize the day enjoying every aspect of it. I had been up there many times in the past with my Father and now miss dearly never being able to again with him. Heck, I remember one time we went up the end of May. There was snow along the sides...

    Clear Lake with my son

I was just up there Monday and the water was incredibly high, perhaps 30-40' above normal for this time of year. Trees fully submerged that should not be.

    Anyone fish the Collawash?

I was up there few weeks ago. Be careful on the Collawash as there is a good number of Bull Trout. In fact the Two Rivers campground is one location they released the radio tagged ones.

    Lightning trout

Lightning trout, a striking variant of the rainbow trout, captivate anglers and nature enthusiasts alike with their unique coloration and elusive nature. Unlike their more common counterparts, lightning trout boast a golden hue, punctuated by a pink lateral line that seems to glow, giving rise...

    Declining trout: an Oregonian article

This "Climate Change" stuff is just crap and the fact that a lot of people and the media tries to blame it on what seems like everything that they think is going wrong is just inaccurate and as troutdude mentions, based on assumptions and I'll add crack-pot theories. I'm sure they are also the...

    Friday fishing at Olallie

We just got back from our very long Fishing trip adventure in which we ended up trying several lakes and a few rivers too! First, Olallie is DEAD folks,:( sorry to say it, but its August and the fish are non-existent and not hungry. They are simply too full from their steady diet of Mosquitoes...

    Friday fishing at Olallie

Hey appreciate the report as I am heading up very early Monday AM. Yeah it's often slow this time of year and doesn't pick up until September. I think that's due to the fact the fish have been eating insects for weeks and weeks and are quite simply full, so they either aren't aggressive nor...

Tiny stream, big fish!!!! Awesome !!

That was simply AWESOME. A real fisherman's paradise it looks like. Talk about going to the extra mile too! That was one beauty of a Rainbow.... You know some of these streams can surprise you. I have one example here in Oregon if I can share? Several years ago we visited Little Crater Lake up...

    Mosquitoes?

Hey thanks for the detailed report. Happy to hear the Skeeter situation has calmed down. Glad you had a good time, but sucks fishing was so slow. The fish have been eating a steady diet of insects and are probably becoming quite full, so less likely to bite on anything. It'll pick up in a few...

    Declining trout: an Oregonian article

I read the article. I think its nonsense.... Climate change, flooding, whatever. Only thing I'd be concerned with are other invasive species of fish(Bass, Perch, whatever) competing with food sources if not eating small trout themselves.

    Mosquitoes?

Alright looking forward to your report. Yeah true when the wind comes up over 15mph they move off. Thanks for the report and definitely will prepare for the worst hoping for the best when we arrive. I'll look into it. Thank you.

    Mosquitoes?

I was wondering if anyone has been up to the lake recently and if so, are the Mosquitoes backing off any? I figure since melt off was much later than usual that the Mosquito situation won't improve until late August into early September. Thanks, -Rob
