Yaquina herring updates

I'm getting anxious for the herring to show... thought I'd start a thread for people to post updates... with tomorrow being the start of February... not a bad time to start the countdown...

Great idea. I want to try making kippers this year.

I made kippers a few years back from mountain whitefish. I was living in a remote part of the East Kootenays, and was catching more whitefish than trout. I developed a taste for them, especially smoked and kippered.

I still love it when smoked lake whitefish occasionally makes it to Zupans or New Seasons.

Just returned from Newport. People trying for herring but no reports of any being caught.

Any new info on this years herring? Looking to get my dad out of CO for an adventure. thanks
