Hello OFFers,

A friend and I are planning a camping/fishing trip in February and trying to find a place not as rainy as the west side.

Is there a viable winter fishery there that time of year?

Or does anyone have any better suggestions of areas on the JD or even different river?

We camped in early March last year at Cottonwood and cannot imagine going back there again. It is just too exposed/no privacy. FYI, I am always up for dispersed camping and actually it is preferred.

Thanks in advance!

Might consider the Crooked River along Hwy 27 south of Prineville. Plenty of BLM sites. Not going to be all that warm though.

Thanks!!!!! I don’t mind cold. As long as it is not cold AND dumping rain.
