Hope this helps some. I will try to find more pics for you later.

Thanks!

Nice photos, it looks beautiful. Any tips for fishing that tim e of year? We'll be fishing out of a boat for the most part. I love fishing kor kokanee, but it would be nice to catch a Brown Trout or two.

For the Browns try trolling relatively close to the shore. not too close because there's lots of weeds just below the surface. The big ones are very skittish, so you need to be fishing the very FIRST light or very LAST light of the day. Even try casting and retrieving lures from your boat. Lures will produce. Even a worm on the bottom or under a bobber will get 'em. Lots of options, just get out there early in the morn if you can. Good luck

Not an expert on brown fishing but from all the research I have done I would suggest trolling a rapala or something similar as far behind the boat as possible. When I troll I change the speed every so often and even curve my troll to the right and then the left and then the right....... It changes the action on your rods so one lure isn't doing the exact same thing as the other. And the earlier the better or the later the better. For some reason fishing isn't the same at high noon. Looked like people were trolling and jigging for kokes. We seen many jumping all around us out in the middle of the lake.

Wickiup in summer

Heading to Wickiup for a week. Had success during several trips at the beginning of the season. Any advice for catching fish during the hot weather??

Last year I caught two nice rainbows flipping a half a crawler with only the weight of a swivel from the bank. One was 22" and the other was 23". It was at the end of July when I caught them. Here's a pic of one of them.

Two weeks later I was camping there with some friends drinking beer and not really thinking too much about fishing when I saw a big fish jump about 50 feet out. I thought what the hell I'll try a rapala. I caught a 24" brown on the first cast and had another chase my lure up to the bank. Here's a pic of that fish.

Not really advice. Just experiences I had last year. Good luck.

Try from sheep bridge campground down to the browns creek inlet. Slow troll threaded whole nightcrawlers slowly with a trolling motor or wind drift the bait if possible. Only go fast enough to keep your bait moving slowly but near the bottom. Or cast countdown rapala's around drop offs in the old river channel or up near browns creek. The big fish will be in here looking for 2 things....cooler water and Kokanee as they begin staging before they spawn.

Good luck and have fun! :)
