Where to go?

That depends on where you are at and how big/stable that jon boat is.

A "jon" boat is a flat bottom boat. You've seen them at sportsmans. There twords the back standing up. The ones they have there are green. There vary stable and great for duck hunting.

Who knows?! Not me!
Man, I dont know if I'd even fish for Gators in somethin' like that...

But, with a boat, I'd move every 45 minutes until you get into fish. I'd try some of the deep, slow moving holes on the Willamette, look for the bedrock(?) shelves you can see on the bank, and assume the underwater terrain is about the same. Fish there. Somewhere between Hogg Island and Elk Rock Island.

I dont have a boat, but...

I drive over the St. Johns bridge for work everyday and there are always boats sturg fishing there. A hole straight across from the launch and the Toyota hole down river about a half mile. You will have company so just go join them.

Ohh, and be sure your skills, your anchor, and your boat are up to those waters.

If not, the Multnohma channel is much calmer looking water. You can put in at the Gilbert river boat ramp, then go down river about a mile to the big bend and fish the outside of it... again you will have company so just get in where you fit in. Good luck.
