Sposta go camping this weekend on an island in the Columbia just downstream of the Willy  it's underwater from what I hear and we might be relocating somewhere else... Somewhere else might be to far ;)..

Anyone have any ideas of some rivers/creeks that won't be blown this weekend?? I want to toss some flies..

This breaks my heart. I leave for Fort Lewis for a month Next Sunday, and this was supposed to be my biggie fishing week.

I'll have to hope the late summer is as good, as I have completely missed out on good early spring fishing.

a week??? the wilson, kilchis, big creek, gnat creek, N fork Nehalem, N for klaskenie all are fishable within 24 hrs of even the hardest rain... don't try to fish rivers that run 75-200 miles with 400 tribs, fish the ones that are less than 30 miles in small watersheds, there is all kinda of river fishing available by tommorow afternoon.

W.W.H.H.M Do?

W.W.H.H.M Do?

Normally I would not give up one of my game plans, but since you are heading to FT Lewis you are obviously a soldier, and since I do not have a yellow ribbon on my car I will try to help you have a nice day of fishing as my for of support. ( im probably wrong so don't hold me to this lousy advice ) I would get up at about 2:45 am tommorrow and have coffee ( you are a soldier... this should be easy ) I would then drive up to Kilchis county park on the kilchis river, this should be the first spot to clear up on the north coast ... probably by 4:50 am when the sun comes up, if fishing there sucks I would back track down to the bridge at kilchis forest road, cross over and head up the road for about 2 miles always staying to the left at any forks ( you will know you are on the right road if you have no dental work left when get to the bridge ) you will come to a bridge with poor parking on both sides of it, get out and walk down the trib to the mainstem kilches... here lies some of the best king water on that river, fish until about 1-2 o,clock now the upper to mid wilson willl be in the perfect position of fishing it on the fall, might have some color but some bait on your hook will fix that... anise on yarn will really clear the water up for them if ya know what I mean. Drive all the way up to the deadline hole and start workin your way down. And if you feel adventurous the trask should get one hell of a push of fish from this rain. Good luck

Thanks for the advice!

I have to Drill all weekend, so no North Coast fishing for me, until Monday at least. I am crossing my fingers that the Upper Mckenzie looks awesome by then.

Also, BAIT???? Shame on you... this is the FLY FISHING SECTION!

No, really, thanks for the advice, I may have to head up to the Kilches, as that is a system I have never dropped a fly in.

Don't a spy a fly reel in that Profile pic?

You should make the time, it is a really fun sport.

Maybe we'll have to meet up one of these days, so you can give me a guided Kilchis tour, and I can show you a killer Snap-T roll cast.
