What a day

Well I had a bit of time on my hands today so I decided to head to the Big C in hopes of getting into a few summer steelies. This is to long of a story to fully post so i'll keep it short and sweet. I caught a couple sturgeon poachers in the act and got to give them the shaft of justice, and oh how good it feels:D. They broke about every rule there is. Using barbed hooks, retaining multiple undersized fish, no liscense or tags, fishing while out of season, and probably a few others:mad:. I'd like to give a big thanks to Ken, or Keith, I forgot which it was, for nailing these sob's:clap::dance:. He drove from mollala to bonneville to nab these guys in the act, and did it in record time( I swear he must have been doin 110). As for the steelie fishing, my pole was only in the water for about 1 of the 3+ hours I was there, and the only takedown I got came while giving a description to the dispatch lady. The other 2 hours were spent running around trying to get liscense plate numbers, and trying to befriend one of the poachers in hopes he would show me where he put the fish and what size they were. I'd also like to thank Osmosis. I'm ashamed to say I don't have the TIP number on my phone( although I do now), but luckily Alan answered his phone and gave me the number, so thanks man. And one last thanks to all the poachers out there:mad:. Thanks for making me waste one of the few days i'll get to fish in the next few weeks, I really enjoyed spending all my time reporting your a$$'s.

So I just got off the phone with officer Ken and he told me some awesome news, he nailed those a-holes:dance:. 300 bucks per fish plus fines for fishing out of season. You just gotta love it when the good guys win. One guys wallets now a 1,000 bucks lighter and neither will be poaching anytime soon, or atleast they better not.

Good thing someone was looking out for those sturgeon yesterday otherwise those guys would have probably left with a trunk full. Good job!

Way to go!

Way to go!

Way to go! No doubt about it,you will be rewarded somehow and probably soon. We all need to follow your example and do it every time we see this kind of nonsense going on whether it's for Sturgeon or for Bluegill. They are all part of our history and our sport/hobby/job. Just be very careful when you are dealing with outlaws, they don't respect people anymore than they do fish. Make sure to let the authorities handle it like this instead of trying to do it yourself.
Proud to have you as a member!

Be safe.

Good job Metalmania!

I see illegal fishing all the time- however since I don't have the "Verizon Network" !!! behind me- my cell phone NEVER works on the lakes I'm fishing.
Can you hear me now? ......Nope!

Good to hear those guys got hit hard in their wallets, they've probably been doing it for years. It seems unlikely though that it will stop them. They don't care about laws.

The problem is, is that people get that whole mentality of "screw the law" or "they won't catch me". I can be just as country as the next person but have no problem following laws that are out there for our wildlife. Have I ever been tempted? Yes. Have I ever followed through? No. It bothers me that people just disreguard and disrespect the rules that have been put in place so that other generations may enjoy the same kind of sport that we do. People who think that they have a right to do whatever they want when they want really p*** me off.
I'm glad you got those SOB's. Way to go man. Wish there were more people out there like you, instead of just letting it slide.

You wanted to fish in that garden pond where all the carp were cause there might be no one patrolling that area.
