IT's been a very long time since I've posted here, but I have a few questions for y'all. I used to own a 2006 Willies 16' drifter, but sold it a while back and just purchase a 2016 Tracker Targa V18 which is one heck of an adjustment\upgrade. I've taken it out a couple times and feel pretty comfortable in it, but I'm looking for some advice about taking it out into the bay and possibly beyond. I know that I need a nice calm, clear day to go beyond the markers, but since I'm new, I'm a bit scared. Where do you all get your information about current conditions that help you decide to go out? If I do end up going out, what's some good advice you all have for navigating or finding a good spot to fish? I have a handheld Cobra VHF radio, and I hope that would be sufficient for anything a few miles out. I also have a hummingbird fish finder with gps on it. The boats in great shape and came with a 150 HP and 10HP outboard motors, and with a v hull, I imagine it will do well out there.
My goals would be to target lingcod, tuna (if possible), halibut, and also get some crabbing in. also, those of you that take your boats out into the salt, what do you use to clean your boats? Also, anyone want to go out fishing with me? LOL
