Made a trip up to Timothy Lake to target Kokanee. We found them alright. Bright red in big pods, jumping on the surface. Thousands had gathered at the north end of the lake headed to the creeks to spawn. Watching them was fascinating it remined me of the anchovy pods we used to see at B-10. They were in there thickly packed together and would bust out of the water into the air then back to the surface water. We did not fish for them, just sipped on coffee and puffed on my pipe enjoying the show on a great sunny fall day. Perhaps we will be landing some of their offspring in the years to come.
