The Big 'D' revisited

Just got home from yet another one of Bigsteel's Deschutes River guide events. He had it all set up to meet up with our guide Brian on Sunday for a float trip down river from Shears Falls. Not a whole lot of people on the river or camping for that matter and even fewer in that stretch of water. As a matter of fact, it was if we had the river to ourselves, just no one there! I'm not giving away the whole story here so I'll let Bigsteel and lilsalmon take it from here but all in all it was a quality fishing trip. If ever one can arrange to fish with a guide, I truly recommend it. You will learn years of experience in one single day.

Waiting In Bend

Waiting In Bend

It sounds as thou you guys have this Deschutes thing down pat. If I brought the Little Blue Drifter over here could I float the Big D in that? I wonder how much a shuttle costs over here.

My wife and I came to Bend Sunday afternoon for a couple days. We spent today driving the Cascade Lakes loop checking out all the lakes and tomorrow I fish until noon then it's OFF to Sisters and the Metolious for a few hours. :clap::pray:

OnTheFly, I pick up some Intermediate sink line for lakes at the Orvis Shop here. I was going to wait but my wife walked in with a $25 coupon so it was only $44!:shock: I'm getting ready to head back up to Clear lake real soon.

Waiting for the fish Porn!!!!

Holy cow. That does it. I'm going to buy a riverside home along the Big D. Then, I'll get rich by subletting it to BigSteel, LilSalmon, and OnTheFly. I'll make millions, with all of the trips they take!!! <insert the song "We're in the Money" here>

:lol::lol::lol: :yay::yay::yay::dance::dance::dance:

Well, finally.....I guess we didn't do the picture thing as much this time. We focused mostly on the catching and releasing....I was determined to get one of my fish in the pic and as Bigsteel said I got my first the day we got there as did bigsteel and onthefly. Sunday was a perfect day for a float and was sooooo quiet, like we were in our own little heaven. Brian Silvey is awesome and really knows the water and was nice enough to take us out on Father's Day, him being a dad and all...we all were successful with catching at each of the spots we stopped at. The wind picked up a bit off and on which made it challenging but still great fun. It was great taking the trip with Onthefly and thanks again for the yummy burgers and bread and butter pickles.

Most of the pics are scenery....sorry....but the fish were all beautiful, numerous and released unharmed.

When we got back to camp we found it annihilated by the wind and were going to stay but decided to pack up and head home........the last thing we seen as we left the Deschutes was the last pic of the sunset.....sweeet.
