Smaller water west of Roseburg

Hey folks,

I am not really new to this area or steelhead fishing but have only really fished during the summer and fall. I'm finally here for good and have time to get out for winter steelhead but don't really want to plunk along the south or mainstem of the Umpqua. Ideally I'd like to find some smaller creeks and tributaries between Roseburg and the coast to float jigs and drift. Not looking for anyone's secret holes or anything--just names of creeks etc that might be fruitful. Thanks.

South fork coquille is good right now.

You could explore the south umpqua around myrtle creek and canyonville.

Awesome! I was just looking at that area on a map and wondering about it. Thanks!

I was going to suggest a hike while you're up there but they've blocked the road. Maybe in the summer if they open the road.

Two more weeks is my guess. I fished it yesterday for a bit. I was alone and a guy leaving said only a couple have been caught.

Are you talking about a creek that goes into the river? If so which one I live near there.

Thanks! I've heard that doesn't get really good til a bit later and I will definitely hit it. But I've got the bug now. :) Plus I really want to find some cool smaller streams.

Steelhead will be open on the South Umpqua and should be decent fishing if the river is in shape.
