"Sand Drop" razor clams

Quick limit today from a beach that is currently open for razor clams, these last two that I got on video gave away their locations when the sand dropped above them. As they pull their siphon down, it creates a void and a thin sand bridge usually stays in place above them. Sometimes the sand is flat, occasionally, but not always, there is a slight round depression. Tapping the sand or walking can cause the bridge to collapse as they pull their siphon down and start digging, leaving a "Sand Drop", a very distinctive show that is always a razor.

They are delicious! Have not had those in quite some time. Might have to make a trip for clams sometime with the family.

Your a lucky man to have a beach like that. We were out of Fort Stevens and the amount of people was crazy. It was the first time I had clammed in at least 25 years. Got enough to keep me happy and it was fun regardless of the crowd. No limits for us but I did talk to some that did, but had to work for them.
