Hey all, I'm wondering if anybody's chasing steelies in the Salem area now? I have a small windfall of time and was hoping to head out early, but I don't know where to go!!

Kinda depends on how you want to go about it. There are plenty of spots along the river for plunking. Minto brown has good access, kinda of rocky bank but fills a need in a pinch. I know you can toss spinners from the dock of the paddle wheel boat. Fish like to hang out in that pool. Independence has a socialsecurity hole for plunking. Just get in and start looking

Like Stayton or Mill City area? I had heard in the past that Mill city can be a good place to bank fish, but since I'm really new to oregon's crazy fishing scene I am never too sure where fish typically are in a given time...

the santiam always has steelhead in it. this time of year, i would fish above mill city anywhere from there to big cliff.
