Restoring fiberglass oars.

H
Hookset
I am starting to research how to restore my fiberglass oars for my DB boat. The fiberglass is starting to leave splinters which is not fun. I did do a search on the forum could not find any info if someone has a link to other post would be willing to read.
1. Is this a sign to replace them?
2. Wrap them in hockey tape?
3. Sand them and paint with urethane?
Looking for any advice. Thank you for reading.

Let me know I may be gone tomorrow depends on the rivers and how they look later today. I don't think they're going anywhere.

I’ve got a pair of Alumaweld 9 footers stored in the top of my shop I’d let go for One Fifty. Old school but fair sticks. PM me if you’re interested. I tried a few times to attach a picture but it’s not happening for me this time. I can text pics if anybody’s interested.
