I have a question about taking my sons fishing. My 15 year old is required to get a license and harvest tag to fish for salmon and steelhead... easy anough.

What do I have to get for my 11 year old ??? The regs say that there is a "Annual youth, under 14 angling licence" that is FREE ( for 13 and younger ). The only harvest tag there available for non adult is their "Annual Juvenile Combined Harvest Tag" but it's for 14 to 17 years... I just don't want to have an issue if he's out there pitching gear for Steelhead and happens to get something.
Any knowledge towards this from others would be great.

As far as i know he gets a free liscense(that you have to get at the counter) but has to buy a tag. just go the counter to get the liscense and ask about the tag.

you can also call ODFW. they are actualy very helpful; if you want info on a new area you are going to fish. you can ask for the fisheries bioligist for that area. leave a message and they will get back to you
