Harvest of jack salmon

Question regarding harvest of jack salmon.

I’ve never bothered keeping jacks because they’re small and tend to not cut well. However, I recently caught a decent sized jack coho that was clipped so I took it home and it cut very nicely. Since last Friday I’ve caught 15 jacks, all released and mostly wild.

Question is: Is retention of wild jack coho legal?

Some of these jacks are pushing 20” and shaped like footballs. I’m tempted to take a few if it’s legal. I just don’t see the answer in the regs.

Help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Nope. Well, almost everywhere it is nope.

Siltcoos and Tahkenitch lakes (and possibly Ten Mile) are the only places I am aware of where any wild coho can currently be retained (1 adult and 1 jack per day to a max of 5 adults for the year).

Thanks Roger...thats what I thought but two people asked why I wasn't keeping them so I figured I better find out.

Above the HR bridge on the Columbia is another location where unclipped coho retention is legal.
