Ok...not the biggest but fairly close. Anything over 30 lbs is big right? If I take into consideration size and quality it's the best chinook I've ever caught.

Also, landing this thing by myself was crazy. It's a total s%!+ show trying to get a medium sized salmon to hand when you're alone in a drift boat. One this size is 10x more difficult. Getting this one in required a lot of things to go my way.

I won't forget this fish any time soon.

Well dang! Good job on that one, and I can imagine what a “chitshow” landing it must have been.

I’m still immature enough to be fixated on big fish, so I think that’s pretty cool.

Wow. So the OP was just bragging? Great.

I am not looking for mile markers or holes. Seems like naming a river, stream, or ocean wouldn't be so taboo.

Quite an accomplishment. Need to get the anchor to hold: check. Need to get the net out and ready: check. Need to control the fish as best as you can in river current: check. Need to get your line close enough to get leverage on the fish toward the net, probably with the net upstream not downstream of the fish: check. Need to get the fish into the net and bring it into the boat without breaking said rod: check. Need to firmly hold on to the rod with a 30+ lb chinook on while doing all the above: check. Whew!

Yes it is taboo. Next thing you know everyone will be fishing the river, best to be quiet about it.
That is an absolutely gorgeous fish, 30 lbs, wow! Fish of a lifetime

There are thousands upon thousands of threads mentioning the body of water people are fishing and hooking up on. I have to assume that the river that gave up that beast is not a secret.

In my opinion the internet has ruined dozens of our streams and rivers in Oregon. Every jackass that doesn't know what he's doing chases a report. Maybe he gets lucky and gets a fish but most likely he just clogs up holes and makes it impossible for fishermen that know what they are doing to fish the best water. It happened to me today.

If you are going to chase reports because somebody decided to let you know where they like to catch fish, learn local etiquette and don't be a richard. (no offense to any Richards out there)
