Vudo;
Welcome aboard! I don't get up to Odell as much as I would like to,that is for sure. But for current weather conditions and a ton of other useful information you should check out Boat Escape; Ultimate Oregon Boating, Camping, Fishing Resource . It is one of my favorites. If you make the trek up there,come back with a heavy stringer! Oh, please don't forget the pictures. We love pictures! Be safe.

Got back from Odell nope the kokes wern't biting did catch a 28" Mack on my koke rod though that was a blast. I would suggest goin to Wickiup don't catch a lot of kokanee but they are prety big all average about 16 inches cought 8 in a day which ain't to bad. the kokanee are all hangin at about 12 to 15 foot.

I went camping this weekend. I had a good time, somewhat slow but steady all day long for jigging. I will post a full report in a bit, right now I have a cooler of fish to fillet.

Combat Chuck thanks for the report on Odell. I am going in the morning hope to be on the water at 6. Sounds like you did OK, slow is better than nothing. Are the fish of any size this year?

Not a huge size, they were around 10", did pick up a few larger. I have never really fished for kokanee so size and numbers are all new to me. Picked up 13 this morning between 3 of us and about the same yesterday... but compare the 6hrs on the water yesterday to the 2hrs this morning and we sure made an improvement. Learned a lot, it was a fun time. Look for the fish to be shallow and jumping.

OK guys here is the report on Odell. A friend and I fished it on Monday from 7AM until 2 PM we caught 39 Kokanees. They weren't big only 9 and 10" but better than nothing. Then we went to Wickiup and caught 2 14" and 1 15" then it blew real hard and we couldn't find the fish. We went back to Odell Tuesday night and hit the water at 5:30 Wednesday. We camped at the Sunset camp ground and went down the lake off of Princes creek. We went right out in the middle of the lake and caught 49 Kokanees. Here's the trick cast into the jumpers with a 1/4 oz pink and white Gibbs Minnow. After it hits the water count to 10 and start pulling it back. Lift the rod tip up about 2 feet and drop it back down reeling up the slack. Every one that we caught they will hit it on the drop. Hope this helps good fishing.:D By the way we never used any bait.

Everyone I talked to in their $40,000 boats that appeared to know their stuff, said that the bite was "Dead" and that no one was catching anything Sunday morning..Both sunday and today, I nearly limited between 5:30-7, so clearly it's not dead, you just have to get away from the boat parade and you'll get into fish. Gibbs minnow is the meal ticket, any pink and white or just pink variation.Also was using a silver holographic zinger with a chartreuse stripe, worked very well, they're on the surface, don't jig the bottom, I didn't even plug in the fish finder...just look for them jumping, and watch the osprey they're the best fish finder there ever was, if they're jumping, you're in a gold mine.

P.s. both Odell and Wickiup were a nightmare into the afternoon as far as wind goes, so good luck with that lol.

It always seems that the little aluminum boats catch more fish. I think its because we who fish with them haven't been dazed by all the bells and whistles and just stick to the basics. Good job up there you guys are all making me want to go up there something bad.
