Welcome to OFF; and good luck on your education at WOU!

What type of fishing do you prefer? What species do you like to chase? Bank or Boat; Fly, spin, or casting; etc?

Let us know more, and we'll do our best to help you get into some fish.

P.S. If you are into making your own spinners...you need to visit the Fisherman's Shack. It's about 10 south of where you live; on Hwy. 99W and Airlie Road.

You have the willamette in Indenpendence that holds great bass fishing, also EE wilson pond if your head towards corvallis on 99E if you want trout! Lots of great fishing around you.

If you're into trout, try Henry Hagg Lake. There's a $5 day use fee; but the trout fishing will pick up again with cooler temps. And there are some big brooders in there. It's about an hour north of you. And the season is open until Nov. 20th.

If you're into Bass and/or panfish...there's Minto Park in SW Salem, along S. River Road.

You would also do well, to get a copy of:

"Complete Angler's Guide to Oregon", by John Shewey.

It's the most comprehensive book that I've ever seen, for fishing Oregon waters.

If you can, please support a local shop and get a copy there.
