Need advice for family camp/ fish/ crawdad expedition

I am trying to find some family friendly spots as it appears as though a lot of spots I went to as a kid and young adult have been co - opted by partiers and are pretty thrashed. I am looking for new spots that are somewhat peaceful for camping, fishing, and crawdading. My daughter likes to look for and catch minnows and frogs and so on and often scares off game fish so I would say I am also looking for a places where we would not be bothering a lot of serious anglers.

If you're looking for somewhere between Eugene/Albany, look for Indian Creek out pat Triangle Lake. Lots of crawdads in the creek, and it is very good for Cutthroat trout, although you would have to wade up and down the creek to find the better fishing holes, and it is pretty shallow for the most part (less than 5ft deep).

Only downfall is there is not much in the way of campgrounds anymore since the bridge collapsed a few miles up the stream.

It would really help if folks knew your location. Otherwise, check out www.boatescape.com for a fairly comprehensive list of lakes and rivers with campgrounds.

Davis arm at Wickiup Reservoir. Free camping, good swimming, lots of toads to catch, and if you toss the right stuff in the water at the right time a good size bow or brown.

Timothy lake is good as well but you need to get to the other side of the lake away from the camp ground. There is good fishing as well as excellent crawdadding as long as you don't mind walking a bit to set up camp. I'd you have a boat it is an easy way to access the other side of the lake!

Not sure if I agree with chrome. I've camped at Timothy twice in last year and a half, both fishing and crawdadding were more than excellent by the hoodview campground. Jumped into the lake after sunset and got us a bucket full of those critters in no time. The trout were suicidal, it was a trout every minute for us. Then again, it was in early summer, not sure if the place is open now.

Cheers

I was talking the crowds at the campground are not great... we were there last year and had a couple of groups of teenagers our partying next to us that made it no very family friendly is all I was saying... the fishing and dadding were amazing!

I agree, it can get a bit noisy now and then. Having said that, being new campers with a 4 year old kid, it is my favorite. Not that I have seen a lot of campgrounds in my life.
