Metolius River...

So I have on short noticed made the decision to head out to the Metolius River tomorrow for three nights. Anyone have suggestions on a campground that has good access to fish. I have looked online and there seem to be a good amount of campgrounds but am I nuts for thinking it won't be a problem finding a site? Thanks all.

i think just about all the campgrounds are right on the river or close. The river is easy to walk up and down fishing. It is pretty flat. Tough river to fish though, but beautiful. You should have no problem getting a spot.

If you do head over bring you ice chest. It's hot over here right now. Looks like it will hit 97 here in Culver. At least you will have shade and cold water over there. Good luck and tight lines.

Thanks all. I know it is going to be hot so it was either stay hot in my non A/C house or stay hot and go fishing. So I chose the fishing. Plus my tent cools down quicker then my house does for sleeping. Got all my gear ready to go just need to get a book to read and I am on my way.

Thanks

Good luck to ya, the metolius is never an easy river to fish, but when you get something it sure makes ya feel good! Even if dumb luck in my case :) Even a skunk there isn't so bad, its one of the most beautiful spots around.

Wonderful river, great scenery, and good fishing...Just not much catching. Got one though and then managed to lose that fly on the bottom and not have a back up when I thought I did so I didn't tie anymore. Tough to know what do on that river though. Very clear and not really like any water I have fished before. It was a good time and I will be back that is for sure!
