Meldrum Bar.....

Was wondering if anyone has been fishin' Meldrum. I went out on Monday plunkin' for a few hours and had no luck. I was tossin' spin-n-glows with sand shrimp. Thinkn' about tossin' a cut-plug herring on the line and seein' what happens. Has any one been out in the last few days? Thanks

The Willy is closed Sun-Wed for Chinook. But I believe it is open for Steelies.

In regards to the bankers along Meldrum:
That is a great spot.
I have been trolling across from there for the past couple weeks and have seen a LOT of steelhead caught there.
I believe most were steelhead, not sure about any springers. My wife got a nice springer in the eddy across from the bar. We have noticed that the fish hug the shorline near Meldrum. The locator doesn't pick up much until we are within about 50 to 75 ft from the shore.
Couldn't get too close because of the lines, but closer we got the more fish showed up.
Nice because you don't have to cast out too far. We use to fish there back in the 60's
It is barren out in the main current. The fish are all hanging in the slower water. Looked like a lot of people were using prawns there??

stopped by there today to see what was going on what kind of poll to people were useing.. thinking about getting into it... Just as i pulled up a guy was landing a nice springer,but they were down in the clack more than anything
