Maupin area fishing

R
radiation
My parents just bought a house in Maupin for retirement and family get togethers. I have been reading about the outstanding fishing. When I went to ODFW site to check the regulations I noticed that it states: "No angling from a floating device. " Does this mean that I can't fish from my drift boat? is this area bank fishing only? Any help is appreciated.

That is what it means. No fishing from a boat. Your feet have to be on the ground.

Very true and floating device includes float tubes. As 00Swede said "feet on the ground"

A fishcat scout is great. While the driftboat poeple have to anchor and climb out, I just stand up and cast.

You can stop mid-river in a pontoon, or one of these shown above, and if you can stand up, you're good to cast. You just can't be sitting in your boat.

That's a pretty neat "work-around" to the reg! Nice Fenny BTW.
