This is funny,

I'm a drafter/ designer by trade.

Just now my boss was having trouble visualizing a pipe rail for a project,

so he asked me if i could make a miniature.

then asked me if I had pliers:D..guess lure building is a professional skill.... now wheres my resume at:lol:

Nice.

Now a little critique on the design...
I'm the guy that installs these, does the concrete, blah, blah.

The handrail should project 12" min. beyond the nose of the first step and 12" min. into the landing above.
You do need a landing. And there are minimum sizes for those.
Risers should not exceed 7" and treads should be 11" min (nose to nose).

If you are not going to be inspected, now that's another code book.

Thank you DD professional feedback is always appreciated.

the concrete is existing and i agree way out of code but client just wants railings,

so due to the sidewalk beyond being part

of commons we needed to be as small a presence as possible so i terminated off to the

side which still meets code and doesn't encroach as much as the standard turn back.plus

this rail is for larger person so the turn and corner create more strength much the same

way car frames have bends to increase linear strength to a appose a given load.

understand last statement completely:thumb:.and yes if those were my stairs i would have

done the layout without a beer in my hand if you get my meaning.

dd knows his code those stairs were a bad pour.

management is not interested in fixing pour "just bid us a set of rails".

We always include in writing when existing conditions don't meet code or are unsafe and

make sure the client is verbally made aware of the issue and will happily provide the number

of another contractor we have full confidence in if client is interested.
