Well, it was a good day. The line did get tight and got one 14 inch rainbow. The water was glassy for most of the day with only a light breeze. Water temp started at 43 deg at 9am then at 2:30pm it rose to 47. When the clouds covered the sun and light breeze, it reminded you it is still winter. Water was merky all the way to the Water retaining wall (Dam). Lots of fish on the finder. Most between 50 to 75ft. I tried jigging for the ones on the bottom, they didn't want to play. Next time.

Sounds like you had fun! I used my downriggers for them big ones on the bottom and they didn't want to play either. I will get em though.

I have a 14ft Alumacraft, closed bow with a white bimini top,9.8hp Merc.

You should look into the cannon minitroll downriggers. $75 a piece and then you respool them with 200' powerpro replacement cable marking the line and forgeting about the depth counter. And you get 8lb balls for them. thats my plan for mine. Got to of the new ones used for a deal but had to make a mounting bracket since my sides have a flare(12' valco) and got an older one in good shape for cheap to mount on the transom for the guy fishing in the middle because of how I mounted the rod holders it wouldn't work to do to rods on one rigger. the older one doesn't have the depth counter but I will be illiminating them and marking the line. But 1 turn of the handle equals one foot. Just an idea ad they work and aren't wallet breakers and don't take up a lot of room on a small craft. All of us lookout fishers should get together someday soon and fish lookout.

Well, I have a uni-troll 10.I just need to install it. If I didn't, that sounds like a good idea. Thanks for info. I have only been on this lake 4 times. It is close for me for when I want to get away for a quick trip.

yeah lookout is a good one to get away from town. wish i had the room for a real downrigger or 2. maybe ill se you out there sometime.

Yea, I got lucky with this one. I'm sure we will, I plan on doing some fishing there when I can.
