Levi, you will be missed!

Another tragedy has befallen us my friends.

A young friend (and Royal Ranger), was killed Saturday morning. He was a member of Outpost #22 at the People's Church in Salem. His dad was once the Senior Commander there (similar to a Scout Master).

Levi was driving home from an overnight shift, at a 24 hour fitness Center. He somehow drifted off the road, hit some trees and flipped upside down and into the Pudding River. A fire Captain witnessed the accident and jumped in. The Captain and others tried to revive him, but couldn't.

Go with God, Levi. You will be missed. :(
I saw this online very sad indeed. We are once again reminded how short our lives can be. I was 11 years old riding my bike down the roar behind a friend in west Eugene. We were riding down a two lane 25 mile hour roadway when a car passed me and struck my friend riding his bicycle , he was just messing around swerving left and right being a kid, when he swerved left he hit the side of the care and was ran over. He died 6 hours later , i watched him get ran over right in front of my eyes. I understood that day just how easy ones life can be taken.
I know a girl who knew him. Seems these past two years more younger people have been dying compared to older folks. shouldnt be that way.
I saw this artice as well,,,,its very tragic......levi will be watched over
Thanks for your kind comments everyone. Levi was only 19. And, he was involved in some summer camps that I go to every year. My best friend has a son, who was close to Levi. It will be hard for everyone who knew Levi.

Thanks again.

P.S. Blackbass, sorry to hear about the loss of your friend at such a young age.

P.P.S. I thank God everyday, that something like this didn't happen to me when I was young. Not on my account. Just glad my mom didn't have to go through, what Levi's folks are now going through.
My heart goes out to his friends and family.
I hope everyone stays safe. What a tragedy...
Hey TD....So sorry to hear the news...just got home from Portland. If you need anything let me know...please... :pray:

Seven years ago my nephew died in a car accident on his 20th birthday, this poem was read by my sister at her sons funeral. She wouldn't mind if I shared it here.

Sorry for me being so sentimental but this is for troutdude, thuggin4life and for whoever else has lost a loved one.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today;
While thinking of the many things
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me
As much as I love you;
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.

She said my place was ready
In heaven far above;
And that I'd have to leave behind,
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye;
For all my life, I'd always thought
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do;
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad;
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday
Just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized
That this could never be;
For emptiness and memories
Would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things
I might miss come tomorrow;
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates
I felt so much at home;
When God looked down and smiled at me
From His great golden throne.

He said, "This is eternity
And all I've promised you;
Today your life on earth is past,
But here it all starts anew."
"I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last;
And since each day's the same day,
There's no longing for the past."
"But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true;
Though at times you did do things,
You knew you shouldn't do."
"But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free;
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?"

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart.
Thank you everyone, for your kindness and prayers. And wow...what a powerful poem! Thanks for that too Lil. ;-)
